OK, I guess you already know what I'm gonna talk about, gravy. Ever since I could remember, I loved gravy. Chicken, turkey, beef, mushroom... ahhh it was great. Now since I've become old and boring and watch what I eat, I've found myself looking for ways to still enjoy what I love. I did some research on gravy, and you can actually buy organic gravy that is vegetarian and gluten free. According to cookthink.com, "Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and in some cases oats. It can be found in breads, pastas or as a food additive in the form of a flavoring, stabilizer or thickening agent in products like ketchup and ice cream.
Those with the gastrointestinal coeliac disease are required to eat a gluten-free diet. The legal definition of gluten varies from country to country, as do the labeling requirements." So, if you have this disease, you can still be a gravy lover. How come gluten is so complicated? Dang GLUTEN!
Anyway, It's vegetarian! :) I bought a brand called Mayacamas. I haven't tried it yet, but I eat alot of protein so I will be more than happy to dress up some boring meat. LOL I will let you know how it goes. However, if your not a gravy person, I usually cook chicken or turkey tenderlion strips(which are pretty inexpensive and lean) on my George Foreman. I usually dip them in egg and lightly sprinkle them with breadcrumbs. They are totally yum. I also have a recipe for brown rice almondine that my sis makes. I will post it as well. I don't know about you, but I can't eat plain brown rice, ewwww! TTYL :)
